Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the state counselling process for admission to postgraduate medical courses in Tamil Nadu. The counselling is conducted by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Government of Tamil Nadu. Through the state counselling process, eligible NEET PG candidates can seek admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses offered by participating government medical colleges and eligible seats in self-financing/private medical institutions. The counselling process is conducted separately for applicable Government Quota and Management Quota seats, with category-specific rules and procedures. The official Selection Committee website publishes counselling notifications, prospectuses, seat information, allotment results and other admission updates.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling 2026 must qualify NEET PG 2026 and fulfil the eligibility conditions specified in the applicable Tamil Nadu PG medical counselling prospectus. Candidates should possess a recognized MBBS degree or provisional MBBS qualification, complete the prescribed one-year compulsory internship within the applicable deadline, and hold valid medical registration. Additional requirements may apply to candidates seeking seats under specific categories, Government Quota, Management Quota, minority institutions or service/in-service categories. Document Required

Candidates should generally keep their NEET PG 2026 scorecard, NEET PG admit card, MBBS degree/provisional certificate, MBBS marksheets, internship completion certificate, medical registration certificate, Aadhaar/valid photo ID, passport-size photographs, community/category certificate where applicable, domicile or nativity-related documents where applicable, disability certificate for PwD candidates, and other documents specified in the official prospectus ready. Candidates applying under special categories may need additional supporting certificates.

How to apply

Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling is conducted by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates should apply through the official Selection Committee portal when the PG Degree/Diploma 2026–27 application window is opened. The official portal maintains a separate section for Post Graduate – Medical Courses and publishes the prospectus, application link, schedule, merit list and allotment information.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit the official website
Go to the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee website and select POST GRADUATE – MEDICAL under the PG Courses section.

2. Read the 2026–27 Prospectus
Before registering, carefully read the official PG Medical prospectus. It contains the eligibility requirements, quota details, application instructions, documents, fees and counselling rules.

3. Register Online
Click the PG Medical application/registration link and enter your basic details, NEET PG information, contact details and other information requested in the application form.

4. Fill the Application Form
Complete your personal, academic, internship, registration, category and NEET PG details accurately. The Selection Committee advises candidates to fill the application themselves and carefully check all mandatory fields before submission.

5. Upload Documents
Upload the required documents in the prescribed format and size. Keep clear copies of your NEET PG documents, MBBS certificates, internship certificate, medical registration and applicable category certificates ready.

6. Pay the Application Fee
Pay the applicable registration/application fee through the available online payment facility. Save the payment receipt for future reference.

7. Submit & Print the Application
After checking all information, submit the application form. Download/print the completed application and acknowledgement and keep it safely for counselling and admission.

8. Check the Rank/Merit List
After scrutiny of applications, the Selection Committee publishes the applicable provisional rank list on its official website. Candidates should check their rank and any instructions regarding corrections or document verification.

9. Participate in Choice Filling & Counselling
Eligible candidates then participate in the applicable counselling round, select their preferred specialities and colleges, and lock their choices within the prescribed time.

10. Seat Allotment & Joining
After processing the choices, the Selection Committee publishes the seat allotment result. Candidates who receive a seat must download the allotment order, complete the required fee/payment formalities and report to the allotted institution within the deadline.
