The counselling is conducted through Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, under the Department of Medical Education & Research, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The 2025–26 prospectus states that the centralized counselling covered 50% State Quota PG seats in Government Medical Colleges and all applicable seats in Private Medical Colleges in the state.

Official counselling authority:
Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh

Location: Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College & Hospital Campus, Ner Chowk, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

Official website: AMRU Himachal Pradesh

2026 status: As of 26 August 2026, the AMRU website is still showing PG MD/MS/DNB counselling notices for the 2025–26 session, including 2025 stray-round activity. I have therefore not treated the 2025 rules, dates or fees as confirmed 2026–27 figures.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate generally needs to satisfy NEET-PG + medical qualification + Himachal Pradesh counselling requirements.

Basic eligibility

  • Completed the required one-year compulsory rotating internship within the deadline prescribed for the admission year.

The 2025 prospectus specifically distinguishes direct and in-service candidates and requires appropriate documentation/NOC where applicable.
